What is Maya Abdominal Therapy?

The Arvigo Technique of Maya Abdominal Therapy is an external, non-invasive massage treatment on the abdomen, pelvis and back. It works to soften musculature, align pelvic bones, adjust the uterus to its proper position and release muscular armoring in the trunk. The  massage helps enhance circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids, elimination, secretion of hormones and prevent swelling and congestion of the prostate.

Maya abdominal massage for the reproductive and digestive systems has been known and practiced for thousands of years, the technique having been passed down through an unbroken chain of midwives, healers and shaman, generation after generation, all over the world from Central America to Africa, Egypt and China. The technique, as practiced today, was developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo.

As is true of the current model of holistic healing, the Maya Abdominal Massage Therapy supports the body's natural healing capacity. The inherent ability to be self-regulating, self-healing and self-regenerating is known as "homeostasis", or balance within, first recognized by Hypocrites in ancient Greece. As natural healers, we work in the realm of the divine science, removing the obstructions and deterrents to Nature's Healing Force. We do not cure disease. We assist the vital flow of fluids and energy to nourish and repair the organs and systems naturally.
